For the first time, the Ukrainian Freedom Fund and the American Heritage Museum are bringing together the architects of modern warfare for a landmark event — a three-day symposium on technology, doctrine, and leadership emerging from the Ukraine-Russia war.

This is not a retrospective. This is a live, strategic briefing on the realities of 21st-century combat, delivered by the people who have shaped it.

Why This Matters

The war in Ukraine has rewritten the rules of modern conflict. Drones, networked warfare, decentralized command structures, and rapid technology adoption have fundamentally changed how battles are fought and won. The lessons coming out of Ukraine right now will define military strategy for the next fifty years.

This symposium brings the people at the center of those lessons directly to you — military leaders, defense technologists, and combat veterans who have lived it firsthand.

The Speakers

The lineup brings together some of the most consequential military minds of our generation.

General David McKiernan, USA (Ret.) led coalition ground forces during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Admiral Ihor Voronchenko, UkrNavy (Ret.), former Inspector General of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Chief of Naval Operations of the Ukrainian Navy, brings the Ukrainian strategic perspective.

Lieutenant General David Deptula, USAF (Ret.), the brilliant strategist behind the air campaigns for Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom, now serves as Director of the Mitchell Institute. Lieutenant General John Jansen, USMC (Ret.), former Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources, adds the Marine Corps lens on force modernization.

RADM Mark Montgomery, USN (Ret.), former EUCOM Deputy Director and Executive Director of the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, will address the cyber and electronic warfare dimensions. Dr. Ben Jensen (COL, USAR), Director of the CSIS Futures Lab and Professor at Marine Corps University, brings the academic and analytical rigor.

From the Ukrainian side, Oleg ‘Q’, Director of R&D at the Ukraine Advanced Research Agency, will speak to the rapid innovation happening on the front lines. Col Vadim Sukarevsky, AFU, the first commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, will share firsthand experience of building and deploying the drone capabilities that have changed the battlefield.

Representatives from Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Command and other guests round out a speaker roster unlike anything assembled before.

Three Days, Three Experiences

Thursday, April 23rd — The Commander’s Banquet

The symposium opens with an intimate evening inside the American Heritage Museum. Imagine having cocktails and dinner surrounded by historic tanks and aircraft, while engaging in candid, off-the-record conversations with the speakers and Ukrainian combat veterans.

  • 1830 — Cocktails
  • 1930 — Dinner
  • 2000 — Panel Discussion

Friday, April 24th — The Symposium Panels

The second day is a deep dive into the critical dimensions of the conflict.

The morning opens with a Sponsor Panel on Ukraine’s Defense Industry — covering technology, doctrine, and procurement — exclusive to Gold and Platinum sponsors. The rest of the day is open to all registrants.

At 1130, Military Training, Education and Development in Ukraine examines how Ukraine has built NATO-standard leadership and decision-making under fire. At 1400, Modern Warfare: Drones and Technology on The Battlefield explores the weapons and tactics that have redefined combat. At 1500, Life in Ukraine: Living Under Constant Attack brings the human reality of a nation at war.

Running alongside the panels from 1100 to 1600: ongoing drone demonstrations and simulators where attendees can see and interact with the technology being deployed on the front lines.

Saturday, April 25th — Panels & Demonstrations

Saturday continues with two more panel sessions — a second look at life under constant attack and modern drone warfare — alongside ongoing demonstrations from 1100 to 1500.

Every $242 Saves a Life

Registration for the symposium is $242 per person. That number is not arbitrary. Based on feedback from leaders educated under UFF’s programs, the Ukrainian Freedom Fund conservatively estimates that every $242 spent on their training programs saves one Ukrainian soldier’s life.

Every dollar raised goes directly to training the next generation of Ukrainian military leaders in NATO-standard decision-making — the critical force multiplier that allows Western technology to be used to its full potential.
